Garrett Halton brings a unique perspective to the team. He worked for nearly two decades in the corporate world, with a primary focus on financial planning for various retail merchandise divisions. Garrett’s foundation started with degrees in Business and Latin American studies from the University of Kansas. During college, Garrett volunteered to help Spanish--only speakers prepare their tax returns. He recognized that taxes are a daunting task for most, but even more difficult for those who could not ask for help. Today Garrett combines significant financial skills with the distinct ability to care for his clients – learned at a young age while growing up and running a small business in Holton, Kansas. Many of Garrett's clients are retail-executives whom he guides through the complexities of stock options, retirement plans, deferred-compensation plans, legacy-pension plans, and other executive benefits.
Garrett enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters, and two Border Terriers. He is an avid Kansas Jayhawk basketball fan, and has worked for some 15 years to build a stellar collection of autographed photos of KU greats. Garrett and his family love to travel. Whether on a weekend getaway to Weston, Missouri or a return trip to Costa Rica, you are likely to find him out and about, enjoying the different people and places of the world. In his free time, Garrett enjoys golfing, going to sporting events, and reading books by a diverse group of authors, including C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien.
